Robin DeSota

Founder

Robin DeSota has been working as an investment adviser and 401(k) consultant for over 25 years. Through his experience at a major Broker-Dealer, a top 401(k) Recordkeeper, and Palisade Investments, Robin has helped start or improve over 600 401(k) plans. Robin was named one of the top retirement advisers in the United States in September 2017 by the Financial Times®.

Robin has earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® designation from the Center of Fiduciary Studies. Robin is an active member of the Retirement Advisor Council, a small group of nationally recognized advisers who advocate for successfully qualified plans and participant retirement outcomes. Robin has a Master's degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and a Bachelor's degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.


Russi Egan

LTCC Interim Superintendent/President

Russi Egan has dedicated nearly two decades of her career to the California community college system, where her passion for higher education and unwavering commitment to student success have left a lasting impact. Throughout her career, Russi has been a driving force in shaping educational experiences that not only meet the academic needs of students but also support institutional growth.

Russi’s academic background is equally impressive. She earned a Master’s degree in Accounting from National University and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Ashford University, creating a strong foundation in her field. Her experience and dedication to making a difference make her a valued member of our campus community.


Megan Waskiewicz

LTCC Director & TEDx Organizer

Megan Waskiewicz is the Director of CONNECT Community Education for the Lake Tahoe Community College.  She has served in this position since July, 2011. Megan has successfully designed and developed the start-up program which now serves a diverse population of the South Lake Tahoe community.  In addition to serving the community, Megan has also developed strong community business partnerships.

Prior to her position at the Lake Tahoe Community College, Megan owned and operated a small business in South Lake Tahoe.  Megan understands the needs and best interests of businesses in the South Lake Tahoe community. 

Megan is a leader, entrepreneur, visionary and forward thinker.


Lisa Shafer

LTCC Executive Assistant to the Superintendent/President and TEDx Organizer and Curator

Lisa Shafer is a longtime South Lake Tahoe resident whose heart and work have been intertwined with the community for nearly three decades.

An alumnus of Lake Tahoe Community College, Lisa has spent nearly twenty years serving the institution, currently acting as the Executive Assistant to the Superintendent/President. Her dedication to LTCC spans far beyond administration; she has been a campus pillar and trusted advocate across multiple leadership transitions, serving as the staff advisor to the Student Senate, co-founding the Friends of Ally Club, helping reinvigorate the Classified Senate, and championing local educational initiatives from the ground up, including early grassroots work on the Measure F bond campaign.

Whether mentoring student leaders, fostering inclusive campus initiatives, or supporting community-driven efforts across South Lake Tahoe, Lisa brings an enduring passion for civic connection, regional service, and empowering the next generation of Tahoe locals.


Mark Thomsen

LTCC Public Information Officer and TEDx Emcee

Mark Thomsen is the public information officer for Lake Tahoe Community College, a role he has held since May 2024. He reports to the college president and leads the college's communications, marketing, media relations and branding.

Mark's work reaches students, families, local media and community partners. He helped guide the college's new logo and brand identity, revealed at the 2026 State of the College Address, and he shares the stories of the students, faculty and staff who make the college part of life in South Lake Tahoe.

Before joining LTCC, Mark served as global brand and marketing director for Trek Travel.

Away from work, Mark is a dad to two amazing girls, husband to a rockstar wife and owner of a goofy Lab named Wilson. He loves just about anything outdoors, from fly fishing to mountain biking.


Angie Mora

TEDx Social Media and Marketing Coordinator

Angie Mora is a fine artist and digital communicator based in Lake Tahoe, California. She currently works across different departments at Lake Tahoe Community College and serves as the Social Media and Marketing Coordinator for TEDx, bringing a diverse background in digital marketing, event production, and community outreach.

Originally from Colombia, Angie holds a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts and an Associate degree in Art New Media from LTCC. Her professional career includes content creation, art education, and event planning through higher education and local non-profits. A published author on art as a healing tool, Angie is also deeply committed to youth mentorship and local arts support.

In her free time, Angie is an active fine artist and outdoor enthusiast who enjoys stand-up paddleboarding, hiking, and sharing traditional Colombian cooking with her loved ones.
